Mitchell Peterson
Salt Lake City, Utah
“Thin and thinner” got the good genes! With long, lean legs, Mitchell Peterson was genetically designed to ride bikes uphill. Don’t let the shaggy, red hair fool you; this kid is all business when the gun goes off. Although only 21 years old, Mitchell has traveled the world seeking the highest levels of competition. He has represented the United States four times at the Mountain Bike World Championships and once at Cyclocross Worlds. In 2008, while a first-year member of the MonaVie Cannondale team and enjoying the benefits of the juice, Mitchell finished a breakout fourth place at the prestigious Sea Otter Classic in Monterey, California. Like every professional cyclist, Mitchell also experienced some disappointments in 2008. After leading the U23 U.S. National Championships for most of the race, an exhausted Mitchell was passed on the last lap to finish amazingly, yet disappointingly, in second place. Experiences like this are what mold champions of the future.
Growing up in the Wasatch Mountains of Utah, Mitchell is an avid skier. He is studying business at the University of Utah and can eat more candy per-pound-of-body weight than scientifically thought possible. Mitchell also has a thing for shiny, European cars and drives a silver Audi A6 wagon with cool wheels!
