It was designed to withstand a 30 megaton blast within 1 mile with such features as 25 ton steel blast doors and walls made of 2000 feet of solid granite. Today the mountain continues to be a central component of out national defense but also is laced with numerous technical mountain bike trails. The real question is whether this mountain can withstand the detonation of the countries best mountain bike racers?

This weekend got off to a rough start when Ben had a crash in practice and needed a few stitches to the chin. Of course he’s still smiling!

On a more positive note, Bryan Alders had a career best 9th place in the Short Track Cross Country.

Saturday’s Cross Country exploded a few riders but Team Monavie-Cannondale survived with 4 men in the top 30 and Sue in the top 15.
