Professional Team
Tinker Juarez
From BMX racing in the 1970’s to Mountain Bike endurance racing in the 21st century, David ‘Tinker’ Juarez has become one of the most enduring and popular figures in cycling. With his trademark dreadlocks, Tinker is also one the sport’s most recognizable figures.
Sue Butler
Sue Butler is a late bloomer. At the ripe age of 33 while sitting behind a computer, working as a school counselor, she had a wild hair of becoming a “professional bike racer.” 2008 marked her first season “on the juice” with Team Monavie/Cannondale and like the other members on the team she recorded personal best performances throughout the entire season.
Bart Gillespie
Known as the “working man” in cycling circles, Bart has a tendency to spread himself a little thin but somehow pulls it off. Bart has been racing bikes most of his life and has dominated mountain bike and cyclocross racing in Utah for years. For the last 2 years he has been racing with team Monavie/Cannondale and has enjoyed the best seasons of his career while “on the juice”.
Mitchell Peterson
Mitchell has travelled the world seeking the highest levels of competition. He has represented the United States four times at the Mountain Bike World Championships and once at Cyclocross Worlds. In 2008 while a first year member of Team Monavie/Cannondale and enjoying the benefits of “the juice” Mitchell finished a breakout 4th place at the prestigious Sea Otter Classic in Monterey, CA.
Bryan Alders
For the last 7 years Bryan has methodically worked himself through the ranks to compete as a professional. 2008 saw Bryan regularly on the podium at the Mountain States Cup races in Colorado and he was the anchor on both of Monavie/Cannondale’s winning teams at 24hrs of Adrenalin’s World Championships in Canmore, Canada and the Intergalactic Championships at the 24hrs of Moab.
Leana Gerrard
Leana brings something a little different to the table with her focus on the gravity assisted side of racing. Leana has been racing bikes for almost her entire life and has found her calling in the dual slalom and four cross events. She has won numerous national events and dominates the local Northwest gravity scene. This year she is tweaking her schedule and will be focusing on endurance downhill and dual slalom races at the national and international level.
Alex Grant
New to Monavie-Cannondale in 2009 is Utah rider/ bike industry rep Alex Grant. Alex has always had a passion for bikes and the outdoors and has worked in the bike industry as a sales rep for over two years. As a sales rep for brands like Pearl Izumi, Continental, Fizik, Crank Brothers and Gu, Alex drives more than 99% of Americans. In 2009 he will continue to balance his windshield time with epic racing around the world.
Jeremiah Bishop
Monavie-Cannondale is proud to welcome Jeremiah Bishop to the team as it raises the bar with one of the most decorated mountain bike racers in the United States. Jeremiah quickly noticed the benefits of the Monavie’s antioxidant blend and is excited to monitor his naturally high cholesterol while using Monavie Pulse and its heart health benefits derived from plant sterols.
Ben Sonntag
Matt Ohran
Two years ago with the help of some friends, Matt formed Team Monavie/cannondale to pursue “epic racing around the world” on the coolest bikes made. In doing so he rekindled the competitive fire from his racing days and transformed himself from “slowran” back to the ever dominant “indorhan”.
